Завод по переработке отходов в Пентакомо превратился в свалку. Это создало серьезную экологическую проблему в районе. С таким неожиданным заявлением выступил министр сельского хозяйства Петрос Ксенофонтос.
Министр посетил завод по переработке отходов вместе с депутатами парламента и Генеральным аудитором Одиссеасом Михаэлидисом. Они были проинформированы о работе завода и свалки, а также о проблемах, с которыми сталкиваются местные жители в связи с эксплуатацией этих объектов.
«Проблема действительно существует», – сказал Ксенофонтос. Он указал, что с тех пор как завод был введен в эксплуатацию в 2017 году, он «не функционировал должным образом».
Изначальный план
Проект завода в Пентакомо предполагал, что он будет перерабатывать поступающие отходы, производить вторичное топливо, извлекать вторсырье, а из органики делать биогаз для выработки электроэнергии.
Лоизос Афксентиу – генеральный директор управляющей компании, в ведении которой находится завод. Он сказал, что завод был спроектирован и построен для переработки твердых отходов, а любые расходы по его модернизации должно нести государство. В настоящее время твердые коммунальные отходы, которые поступают на завод, не соответствуют техническим требованиям, в результате производимое вторичное топливо не отвечает стандарту по содержанию влаги. Это приводит к тому, что большое количество мусора приходится выбрасывать, а не использовать как топливо.
Первоначально для захоронения оставшихся отходов была предусмотрена специальная яма, но теперь эта яма превратилась в холм.
Последствия
Глава сельского совета Пентакомо Памбос Хараламбус сказал, что ситуация катастрофическая, а жители ожидают немедленного решения проблемы. По его словам, здоровье людей, живущих поблизости, ежедневно подвергается опасности.
Глава селения Калавасос Лефтерис Фокас в свою очередь заявил, что проблемы остаются, хотя ряд мер и был принят. «Безусловно, завод не функционирует должным образом. Жители регулярно сталкиваются со зловонием, ядовитыми жидкими отходами и риском пожара», – сказал он.
Что можно сделать
Глава селения призвал к ответственной политике и разработке графика для решения проблем. Глава Минсельхоза в ответ отметил, что ведомство намерено обеспечить окончательное решение проблемы в рамках законодательства. «Это произойдет не за один день», – сказал он, когда его спросили о конкретных сроках.
Генеральный аудитор Одиссеас Михаилидис заявил, что на объекте зафиксирован ряд проблем, а работа подрядчика велась с перебоями. «Подрядчик не выполнил свои контрактные обязательства, – сказал Михаилидис. – Мы ожидаем, что компания отнесется к этому вопросу с должным вниманием, чтобы не обременять дополнительно кипрских налогоплательщиков, выполнить свои обязательства и снизить нагрузку на окружающую среду и соседние селения».

Terms means these terms and conditions titled Terms and conditions of use
Underlying System means any network, system, software, data or material that underlies or is connected to the Website

You means you or, if clause 1.1b applies, both you and the other person on whose behalf you are acting.
4 Your obligations
4.1 You must provide true, current and complete information in your dealings with us and must promptly update that information as required so that the

a not act in a way, or use or introduce anything (including any virus, worm, Trojan horse, timebomb, keystroke logger, spyware or other similar feature) that in any way compromises, or may compromise, the Website or any Underlying System, or otherwise attempt to damage or interfere with the Website or any Underlying System; and
b unless with our agreement, access the Website via standard web browsers only and not by any other method. Other methods include scraping, deep-linking, harvesting, data mining, use of a robot or spider, automation, or any similar data gathering, extraction or monitoring method.

10.4 Clauses which, by their nature, are intended to survive termination of these Terms, including clauses 5, 6, 7, 10.1, continue in force.
10.5 If any part or provision of these Terms is or becomes illegal, unenforceable, or invalid, that part or provision is deemed to be modified to the extent
required to remedy the illegality, unenforceability or invalidity. If a modification is not possible, the part or provision must be treated for all purposes as
severed from these Terms. The remainder of these Terms will be binding on you.
10.6 These Terms set out everything agreed by the parties relating to your use of the Website and supersede and cancel anything discussed, exchanged or
agreed prior to you agreeing to these Terms. The parties have not relied on any representation, warranty or agreement relating to the Website that is not
